Darion Vence Arrested, Held On Million Dollar Bond
The case involving the missing 4-year-old girl in Houston is starting to crack. Her stepfather, who originally reported her missing is now being charged for “tampering with evidence of a human corpse” according to Click2Houston.
As previously reported, Darion Vence claimed to have been driving to pick on Maleah’s mother from the airport with Maleah and his toddler son. He told police a story about having car trouble and being confronted by three men who beat him and kidnapped Maleah from the side of the road. Houston PD said they found holes in Vence’s story and named him as a suspect.
Vence made his first court appearance at 8 p.m. Saturday, where his bond was set at $999,999.
After investigating Vence’s apartment, Houston police said blood evidence was found and linked to Maleah. Police also obtained surveillance video of Vence leaving his apartment with a basket, stuffed with a plastic garbage bag after Maleah’s alleged kidnapping.
Police have not yet made confirmed Vence as Maleah’s killer, but sadly we know what this probably means.
As of now, Maleah is still regarded as a missing child.
